"Hurricane House," Douglas Road, Port Charlotte, Fla.

This panelized home in Port Charlotte, Fla., was completed one week before the eye of Hurricane Charley passed directly over. The house sustained nothing more than minor cosmetic damage. In a similar panelized home next door, the occupants rode out the powerful storm as trees crashed around them. Both homes were built by Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Venice, Fla.
